Antonio Turco is a dynamic young researcher whose trajectory is on the rise, boasting a strong track record in multidisciplinary research projects centered around cutting-edge nanotechnology and carbon nanomaterials. His expertise encompasses a wide array of fields, including biomedical applications, environmental remediation, electrochemical sensors, and innovative characterization techniques aimed at uncovering the biological fate of nanomaterials. Dr. Turco consistently achieves groundbreaking results that surpass the current state-of-the-art in each of his research endeavors, as evidenced by his frequent appearances as the first and/or corresponding author in high-impact journals.
Currently, Dr. Turco leads as the Principal Investigator of the PRIN 2022 project, “MAGELLANO – MAnufacturing systems for Graphene nanocompositEs and their appLications as embedded eLectrochemicAl seNsors in Lab-On-chip” and serves as Vice PI of the PRIN PNRR 2022 project, “CALINERO – Enhancing Neurovascular Communication with Carbon-engineered Organs-on-a-Chip: Novel Nanotools for Brain Injury Repair” Furthermore, he plays a pivotal role in two industrial projects focusing on the development of carbon-based innovative nanocomposites for water treatment and decontamination: “MS4Water” and “EFESTO – GrafEne multistrato come Fonte di nuovi matEriali e prodotti nanoStrutturati per applicazioni Tribologiche, termOconvezione ed edilizia” These roles underscore his commitment to pushing the boundaries of research and innovation in these crucial areas.
